Frequently asked questions
Sorted by Sammy will help you declutter, sort, organize and create systems that make your home work for you. Whatever space we are organizing, my top three goals are as follows:
Function first. Does it make sense for you and your family?
Pretty second. Is it beautiful to look at?
Peace always. Is it easy to maintain? Does it make you happy?
Most common areas are: closet, pantry, kitchen, storage room, kids playroom, and especially junk drawer. But really, I can organize anything, in any room of your home, including outside garage and shed.
Sure do! My Virtual Sort sessions are perfect if you’d rather DIY with a little guidance. We’ll hop on a call, make a plan, and I’ll walk you through how to declutter and organize like a pro — from wherever you are.
During our first session together, I will ask you a lot of questions while assessing the space. I want to get to know you, determine how you think, learn your goals, and build a game plan. After that, I roll up my sleeves and get sorting.
This is up to you. Sometimes I work side by side with clients while we declutter together. Other times I work solo while the client is at work, sending pictures back and forth for clarification. For first time clients, I would love to meet you first, ask a bunch of questions and get a feel for how your family functions and what changes need to be made for organizational systems.
Minimum session, 4 Hours = $200
Most common session, 6 hours = $300
Full day session, 8 hours = $400

This one is really difficult to answer without seeing a specific space first. Are we quickly decluttering the playroom and taking items to donation, or do you want bins to be swapped out, with custom zoning, labels, and time-lapse video? Does the pantry need a quick refresh or are we starting from scratch in a brand new house? Does the basement storage shelf need some rearranging or is there 2 decades worth of items piled up for review? If you think of it in those terms, you'll understand my dilemma of answering this very common question. Once I see the space and understand your goals, I can give you a realistic timeline.
You can purchase bins ahead of time, or I can use some of my own and add to your invoice. I carry an assortment of commonly used bins in my vehicle when attending client sessions. I will make product recommendations by providing links or I can purchase for you and bring to the next booked session for implementation. If you have pictures in mind of what you want your space to look like, please show them to me so I can find similar products and make your dreams come true.
I sure do. Sorted by Sammy is based in Oakbank, but I have many clients in Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Depending on how far away you are, a small travel fee may apply, just ask!
Life happens, I get it. If you need to reschedule, please give me as much notice as possible, hopefully 24 hours, so I can rearrange my week. No shows will be charged a full booking fee.
I would love to post before and after photos/videos of the transformation in your home, but only if you're comfortable with it. Let me know if you aren't.
Yes! Organizing sessions make a great gift for housewarming, bridal or baby shower, mother's day, birthday or just because. I offer digital e-cards here but if you would like me to create a beautiful physical card or certificate, let me know and I'll whip something up. I love to be creative.
I will not make you throw anything away that you haven't decided yourself. Typically, while we declutter I will hold up items and all I need from you is a quick "yes" or "no". The goal is to avoid decision fatigue. Common piles while sorting are: keep, donate, recycle and garbage.
Please don't be. This isn't a "let's tidy up before the cleaner gets here" type of situation. I want to see the real mess, so that I can help you fix it and maintain a reasonable system for keeping it that way. Zero judgement from me. I promise.
