about me

Recovering corporate overachiever 👋
These days, I’m figuring out what calm really feels like, and helping others find it too.
Hi, I’m Sammy Lucko. Professional organizer and the heart (and label maker) behind Sorted by Sammy.
I’ve lived in Oakbank pretty much my whole life. Small-town roots, big love for cozy spaces, and a deep appreciation for slowing down. I get what it’s like to juggle work, family, expectations, and the never-ending laundry pile that somehow multiplies overnight.
For 16 years, I climbed the corporate ladder. On paper, I was thriving. In real life? I was exhausted. My days were full, but my tank was empty. Everything felt busy and loud, and I couldn’t find the calm I needed.
Organizing was always the thing that grounded me. When life felt heavy, I’d start sorting a drawer, color-coding files, or decluttering something - not because it looked pretty, but because it helped me breathe again. It was never about perfection. It was about peace. That feeling when you walk into a space and instantly exhale because everything’s finally where it belongs.
Eventually, I made a big decision: I left corporate life behind. Now I spend my days fixing messes I actually want to clean up.
I started Sorted by Sammy to help other people find that same sense of calm. To create homes that actually work for real life. No judgment. No perfectionism. Just functional systems, approachable style, and a bit of sarcasm to keep things fun.
Organizing isn’t about having a picture-perfect pantry (though I’ll never say no to a good rainbow sort). It’s about making life easier. Lighter. More enjoyable. Whether it’s a full-home overhaul, a kitchen that finally makes sense, or a junk drawer that just needs some love, I’m here to help you find your floor (and maybe your sanity) again.
When I’m not labeling everything in sight, I’m probably watching Below Deck with my husband, crafting with my kiddo, cuddling my dogs, or mentally reorganizing whatever room I’m sitting in. Will I actually get up to do it? Debatable.
At the end of the day, I just want people to feel good in their homes. Calm. Comfortable. In control. That’s the magic behind Sorted by Sammy.
